Bauan, Batangas: A Diver’s Haven in the South

Not known to many, Batangas holds a beauty only discovered by few. That is a good thing, right? Especially for those who are looking for something unique and somewhere away from the bustling city.
Due to its close proximity to Metro Manila, the province of Batangas has been one of the many must-visit places perfect for a quick weekend escapade. Here you'll find centuries-old churches, delectable food scene, numerous mountains, locals with a very strong accent, and a volcano within a lake.
But what truly makes Batangas stand out from rest are the numerous pristine beaches namely Anilao, Laiya, Nasugbu, Tingloy, and Calatagan. Imagine this – after just 2-3 hours travel time, you can already see yourself splurging with serenity together with the great views of the ocean, who wouldn’t want that?
Aside from the above-mentioned places, there’s a municipality in Batangas also worthy of your undivided attention. Considered to be a diver’s haven, Bauan, Batangas is now taking over the spotlight and ready to show to its visitors the gems it hides.  Since most of the barangays here are near the coastal area, you’ll be surprised by how many wonderful beaches they have. Although the sands here are not that powdery, there is something more here that meets the eye!
Yes, we know that new places do excite us, however, before you rush around and head to Bauan, let us give you first some pointers on how to maximize your time there.

How to get there

FROM MANILA
Located south of Manila, Bauan, Batangas is easily accessible via the South Luzon Expressway wherein it’ll take you about 3-4 hours depending on the traffic. If you're about to commute, take the bus from Cubao or LRT Buendia going to Batangas Pier then take a jeep from Grand terminal to Bauan.

To lessen your worries, why not let us take you there, right? Let our friendly drivers drop you off you to Batangas with ease. Talk with us live on our website or chat us on our official Facebook page.

Diving and Snorkeling
If there is one thing that Bauan, Batangas will never run out of, that is its rich marine life. Beneath its clear waters are numerous species of fishes and colorful coral beds that attract lots of tourists making it an excellent scuba diving spot! Some even go here to have their diving certification!  It'll surely save you money since you no longer need to go too far to places such as El Nido and Coron, right?
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned diver, there will be professional scuba divers that'll assist and provide you with necessary instructions before dropping yourself into the water 'cause your safety is the primary priority here...always!
However, if you're not yet confident to do scuba diving, Bauan is also a casual snorkeler-friendly destination.

Side Trip to Heritage Town

Just 30-minutes drive from Bauan, Batangas’ is the Vigan of the South.  Taal Batangas is home to some of the country’s national heroes and is now a heritage town for having the well-preserved ancestral houses throughout the town.  Being at Taal will surely give you a glimpse of the Spanish era’s rich lifestyle from every corner.  Probably, you won’t run out of sites to visit, history to uncover, and for the millennial, an Instagramable spot while at Taal.
Your stroll around should start from its very center. The Basilica de San Martin de Tours, considered as the biggest church in the Orient, is right at the heart of Taal Park which is surrounded with cultural landmarks and numerous ancestral houses – especially those were once home by Filipino heroes such as Don Felipe Agoncillo and family.
The town of Taal may seem small from the looks of it but it’s filled with great stories that you shouldn’t miss.

Needless to say, Bauan-Taal, Batangas is something from the off beaten track that'll surely amaze you! Not only you'll have the great refreshed weekend here but you may also even have a diving certificate. Exciting, isn't?
