Scientists and Inventors discovered, and created many things
because of their curiosity. Like Galileo Galilee’s Telescope where he used it to
observe planets like Venus and Jupiter, Alexander Graham Bell’s telephone that
is widely used today as one of our tools for communication, or Isaac Newton’s
law of motion. We won’t be able to develop without their breakthrough. Science
is a now necessity in this time of day.
Non-profit project by the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc.,
The Mind Museum is dedicated to provide an amazing educational experience, to see
science and technology come alive. The museum is the first science museum in
the Philippines with over 250 hands-on, minds-on interactive exhibits at JY
Campos Park in Bonifacio Global City.
The Mind Museum contains 5 galleries; Atom, Life, Earth,
Universe, and Technology.
THE ATOM GALLERY will make you appreciate what the tiniest particle can do
to our surrounding, exhibiting pieces that would let you understand
how counter-intuitive quantum serves as the basis of most of our
technology today. Atom Gallery also has the most interactive exhibits.
THE LIFE GALLERY features life itself on Earth. This gallery is filled with
different kinds of habitats and an impressive number and variety of organisms
that thrive our planet. This gallery also helps us to understand how life
surrounds and inhabits us – from microbes to large animals like the life size
‘butanding’ or whale shark, they have displayed in the gallery.
THE EARTH GALLERY focuses on the forces that shaped and re-shaped our planet,
Earth. It also tells the evolutionary history of life on our planet. It contains
a 3D animated film made by an all-Filipino crew that features 4.6 billion years
of the planet’s natural history and evolution in 12 minutes. Don’t forget the
gallery has Stan, its own and first permanent T-Rex in the country.
THE UNIVERSE GALLERY humankind has long been fascinated about life outside
Earth. Universe gallery features the strange vastness of outer space and shows the
fundamental elements at play in the cosmos. The gallery also contains a unique
planetarium which can make you feel as if you lying down on a bed star-gazing.
THE TECHNOLOGY GALLERY is located above all four galleries and it’s also the
largest among all. The gallery is divided into five major themes with each
theme occupying a Node. The themes of the Nodes are: How We Live, Who We Are,
How We Know, How Things Work, and Here to There. This gallery is also a
representation on how humans, with the tools we invent and innovate, are able
to express our ingenuity and how technology helps us to become better humans.
BTW When you enter the museum you’ll first be greeted by a
robot named Aedi (Idea spelled backward).
Now after you’re done exploring inside, stop by and explore
their nature exhibition, Science-in-the-Park exhibit outside the museum and
witness the magical beauty of nature.
The Mind Museum is open every Tuesdays and Sundays from 9am
to 6pm. Ticket varies depending on what kind you will avail. An All-day Pass
cost Php750 for both Adult and Child, this will allow you to go around and
interact with exhibits from 9am to 6pm. A cheaper option is when you avail
their 3-hour visit Time slots, which costs Php625 for an Adult and Php475 for a
