After
a long year run, organizers canceled the annual Philippine International Hot
Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF), originally scheduled in February 2019 at Clark,
Pampanga.
“We
regret to inform you that because PIHABF has not received the commitment from
our government partners on time, we will not be able to organize the annual The
Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark this coming February
2019,” the organizers said in a statement on its website. However,
the PIHABF said they might organize the aerial festival outside Clark this
2019.
With
that being said, the balloon festival is now set to take flight this April in
Lubao, Pampanga!!
Just like in the past years, the Lubao International
Balloon and Music Festival (LIBMF) is expected to draw thousands of spectators
from all over the Philippines and even from other countries. This event will
last for three days, beginning from April 5 to 7 at the Pradera Verde, Prado
Siongco in Lubao, Pampanga. Aside from the main event, which is the flight of
giant hot air balloons, you can enjoy various activities such as off-road rides, rallycross, ultralight, motor paragliding shows, balloon’s night glow, and a
bazaar.
Watch out also for the cool line up of local artists such
as I Belong To The Zoo, JK Labajo, Ben and Ben, and December Avenue on the
first night (April 5); Al James, Shanti Dope, Gloc 9, and Apl de Ap on the second night (April 6); and This Band, Moira dela Torre, and Bamboo on the third
night (April 7), all ready to rock up your world during the nightly music festival!
